Meta Blue Team Lab Online Solving
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah. How are you hackers?? May allah bless me and you.
Today I am writing this blog/article after solving Meta. I wrote this based on How I Solve this lab.
Before Read this, Try to solve lab. If you stuck then come here for help.
Ok Now lets move on to the lab.
First Read the Scenario.
The attached images were posted by a criminal on the run, with the caption “I’m roaming free. You will never catch me”. We believe you can assist us in proving him wrong.
First Download the zip file and extract it. The password is : BTLO.
Inside the folder you will see 2 images.
Tools that used to solve this lab :

- https://jimpl.com/ (Website)
- exiftool (Kali Linux)
Now lets Solve the Lab.
Solving Lab
I used my kali machine to solve the lab and I used exiftool
What is the camera model?
Answer :
Canon EOS 550D
Command that is used :
exiftool uploaded_1.JPG
When was the picture taken?
Answer :
2021:11:02 13:20:23
Same command.
What does the comment on the first image says?
Answer :
relying on altered metadata to catch me?
Same command.
Where could the criminal be?
Answer :
Kathmandu
Note : When you look at the exiftool’s result you will find a GPS Position. When you search in google you will figure it out that the location is Mbarara City, Uganda. But that’s not the answer.
[You can use google map for this]
Then what’s the answer?? If you go back to the asset folder you will find uploaded_2.png. In the image you will see a temple. Now go to google and use “search by image” feature. Upload the uploaded_2.png. Did you find the answer?? Yes that’s the answer.
